English Hubs
English Hubs offer support to local schools, academies and free schools to improve the teaching of phonics, early language and reading in Reception and Year 1.
There are two English Hubs coving Cheshire.
The Lacey Green English Hub is one of only 34 schools across England appointed by the DfE to take a leading role in supporting schools that require some support and guidance to teach children to read by improving the teaching of early language and reading.
We support a number of Local Authorities across the North West and provide advice, support, training and development to staff in schools within our region through a collaborative approach to achieve the best outcomes for all children.

Childer Thornton English Hub are proud to be designated as one of The Department for Education’s 34 English Hubs. This is in recognition of our excellent track record in phonics and reading.Our designated geographical areas include Cheshire West and Chester, Wirral, Liverpool, Halton, Sefton, Warrington and Knowsley. Our aim is to provide support and development to schools across our area by improving the teaching of early language and reading. We provide training and development to schools within our region through a collaborative approach to achieve better results for children.
